Shot list

When producing my Animatic I had to start thinking of the shots I would be using throughout my video.

I have made a list of some of the shots I aim to include within my video:

Close up shots of the character (head shots)

Close up shots of the characters lips to show lip syncing

Full body shots in order to show the characters outfits

Over the shoulder shots (mainly when looking through the dressing table mirror at the character)

Shots of just the characters hands , feet or eyes

I have selected some images taken from my Animatic in order to show some of the different shots I am to include.

This shot here shall be a close up shot of the characters feet. I would like the character to be wearing heels and walking past the camera or towards the camera. I would also like the shoes to change colour on each beat within the song.

This shot is going to be a full body shot of the character spinning round. I would like the camera to capture the full movement of the spin several times. I will place the camera directly in front of the character. I will capture this shot in the bedroom location.

This shot is going to be taken from the side. It will show the movement of the characters mouth when lip syncing the lyrics to the song. I felt that this would give the shots a bit of variation and just filming the lip syncing shots of the face from in front of the face would eventually start to look too repetitive and boring!!! To make this shot it will consist of me capturing four different images of four different types of shoes. I will then insert them into Final Cut and use a split screen to have each of the clips all showing at once. I like the idea of each of the squares within the shot changing what film it is showing every second to keep the audience interested and a bit more creativity to my editing. I will have to film the shoes in the same area with the same background. This shot will be taken from behind the character looking through the mirror. The camera will show half of the characters head and shoulder as though the camera is looking over her shoulder. However this drawing does not explain that very well!! The shot here will be a close up shot of the characters hands placing down a blusher and picking up some lipstick. The shot has the aim of showing the flow of action as the character applies her make-up. The close up shot will enable the audience to see exactly what the character is doing. The make-up will be placed upon the dressing table in the shot.

Camera shots and angles

In order for my music video to be full of different camera angles and shots I chose to explore more of the videos from 'The Saturdays' so I could aim to attract the same audience. I had a look at the video 'Higher' as I felt that I needed to look more into The Saturdays and how they use camera angles and props within their music videos to make them entertaining and successful.
