Final Cut

This is my final finished music video. I have used Final Cut all the way throughout creating my video. I have found that it has taken much longer than I expected to finish my video. This may be because Final Cut was pretty new to me as I had not spent much time using it before. This meant that as I was creating my music video, I was continuously learning new skills throughout the process.I have not used a mass amount of effects within my video as I found that when looking over the variety footage I felt that it didn't need any particular affect to make it better. However I would have liked to maybe have shot some of the footage within the studio. If I had done that, I believe I could have concentrated on the effects side a lot more that what I have with the footage I have used.

I feel as though my video involves too much repetition therefore If I produced another I would concentrate a lot more on doing more shooting in order to achieve a higher level of shot variation. This could affect my audience feedback as many people may not like watching the video with it having too much of the same thing.

CD design

Using photoshop I have produced the design which shall be printed on the CD within the album. I felt it was important for me to use the same colours as the album cover and the poster. Therefore I have printed the words in pink, blue and black.

Below I have printed the small print that is placed on the bottom of the CD.

This is the image that shall be placed behind the front cover which has the thank you message from the artist.

Poster

This is the poster to go with my CD Digipak. I have used the same colour scheme with the pink, the blue and the black. I have also used the same font . I have done this so that my audience shall recognize the poster is advertising the specific album. I have inserted an image of the CD cover onto the poster so that if my audience see the poster and are interested in purchasing the album, as soon as they walk in to a shop or go online they will immediately be able to identify the album.

Digipak - Front Cover

I wanted to make my album cover link with certain parts of my video. I believe that album covers with photos on the front are very successful at catching their audience's eye as the audience can see who immediately the album has been produced by. Throughout my video I have certain shots that are repeated therefore I felt that choosing one of these would help me to make a clear link between the album cover and

the video.

When analyzing the term 'Lose Control' which is the title of the song I decided that this image would be great for the front cover.

I have taken this image directly from my video. The image is not the best quality however I do not have time to capture the shot again on a better camera which would be more suited for producing an album cover. I chose this image as I believe because the character is moving and twirling around it sums up the expression 'Lose Control'. When we 'lose control' we tend to 'let ourselves go and let our hair down'. I used the shot during the video to express the title 'Lose Control'.

I therefore felt it was an image that would express the title of the song successfully.

I wanted to keep the album cover plain and simple therefore I decided to just type the simple text of the name of the album and the artist on the front. I felt that having the different colours in the dress would be a great opportunity for me to use that as my colour scheme. In the dress there is pink and blue therefore I chose these colours to publish the text in.

I chose to print the name of the album 'Lose Control' in Pink. At first I chose a simple font however I decided I did not like it as I wanted a font that expressed the 'fun' and 'individuality' of the band and the song.

This is the version of my album cover which I like the most. I changed the fonts to a more attractive font that stood out more than the previous. I believe the colour scheme works really well.

Rough Cut

I have produced my rough cut on Final Cut. After filming my footage I uploaded the clips onto Final Cut and started to select the ones I felt were good enough to be in my video. Once I had done this, I had to insert them into Final Cut in order. Adding the music was the next step.

The image above shows a screen grab taking from final cut showing the clips when they are inserted. Then you have to crop them down and begin to sync them in with the music. When working on producing my video I was constantly looking back at my animatic to see here I wanted each clip to be situated in time with the lyrics of the song.

After piecing together the first section of my footage I have managed to create my rough cut.My rough cut is not very long as some of the footage I filmed did not turn out as well as I would have hoped. Therefore I decided to just use the footage I was happy with and focus on re-filming the rest. The rough cut is roughly around the first 30 seconds of my video. I have tried to fit the shots in with the beat of the music making sure the shot changes when the beat does. I do not have much lip syncing present within this rough cut as the lip syncing comes later on in the song and I need to re-shoot in order to be able to sync it in with the song! When I edit the final cut of my music video I would like to focus more on editing the clips, the colors and adding transitions to make it that just little bit more exciting and interesting to watch. Im happy with the footage I have up to now and looking forward to moving on and re-shooting in order to start creating my final cut!!! Within my rough cut I noticed that at the start of my video there is a incorrect spelling displayed upon the I pod I have used in the opening shot. Therefore when working on my final cut this will be one of the features I aim to correct.

The word 'Loose' is the wrong spell as the title is 'Lose Control'.
