Rough Cut

I have produced my rough cut on Final Cut. After filming my footage I uploaded the clips onto Final Cut and started to select the ones I felt were good enough to be in my video. Once I had done this, I had to insert them into Final Cut in order. Adding the music was the next step.

The image above shows a screen grab taking from final cut showing the clips when they are inserted. Then you have to crop them down and begin to sync them in with the music. When working on producing my video I was constantly looking back at my animatic to see here I wanted each clip to be situated in time with the lyrics of the song.

After piecing together the first section of my footage I have managed to create my rough cut.My rough cut is not very long as some of the footage I filmed did not turn out as well as I would have hoped. Therefore I decided to just use the footage I was happy with and focus on re-filming the rest. The rough cut is roughly around the first 30 seconds of my video. I have tried to fit the shots in with the beat of the music making sure the shot changes when the beat does. I do not have much lip syncing present within this rough cut as the lip syncing comes later on in the song and I need to re-shoot in order to be able to sync it in with the song! When I edit the final cut of my music video I would like to focus more on editing the clips, the colors and adding transitions to make it that just little bit more exciting and interesting to watch. Im happy with the footage I have up to now and looking forward to moving on and re-shooting in order to start creating my final cut!!! Within my rough cut I noticed that at the start of my video there is a incorrect spelling displayed upon the I pod I have used in the opening shot. Therefore when working on my final cut this will be one of the features I aim to correct.

The word 'Loose' is the wrong spell as the title is 'Lose Control'.
