Digipak research - Girls Aloud

This is the front and back album cover of 'Out of control' by Girls Aloud. The front cover is very simple with a glamourous photo of the girls with a striking white background. The white background enables the photo to stand out. The girls are all wearing bright coloured outifts which anables the cover to work really well. It would successfully catch your eye when browsing through the charts in a store. The way the girls are possitioned is very interesting as they are not in line. Each of them are positioned on a different level giving the image alot more depth.

The back cover of the album uses the same colour scheme as the front cover. I think the font looks really good in all the different sizes. Thye have used the colours of the outfits the girls are wearing on the front when printing the track numbers on the back. Black and white with a slight dash of colour is a very smart way of producing an album cover and makes it look very 'stylish'.

The image displayed above is the inside of the album. The CD once again is very simple however the colours are much less bold than those used on the front and back. I like the simplicity of this CD artwork. People do not neccesserily look at the inside. When buying the CD you can not look at the inside within the shop as they are sealed therefore spending a lot of money and time on the inside would be rather pointless. It is the front and back that advertise and promote your album encouraging people to buy it by attracting their attention, therefore all the artists time and focus could be on constructing the front and back cover. This could be the reason why many CD's do not have a mass amount of artwork printed on them.
